Brother of Roderick de Stacpoole, (See Listings). ‘Mentioned in Despatches’. On 7 May 1915, a solemn mass was held for him at the Church of Saints Peter and Paul in Ballymacward• It was presided over by the Most Rev. Dr Gilmartin. Brother of Robert de Stacpoole, also killed in Action, both brothers are remembered on a memorial plaque in the church. Another brother,Hubert’ with the Leinster regiment, and was recovering from wounds when his brother was killed. A fourth brother, George, served with the Connaught Rangers, and survived.
