Supplementary Notes: Wounded on the western front in 1915. Sent to a Liverpool hospital. From there he was sent to Galway to rejoin his regiment at Renmore barracks. On the morning of April 4th 1915 he was found dead in his bunk; his throat had been cut. A small safety razor was found close to his bed. The verdict of the medical examiner was death by suicide. It was believed that he had suffered deeply because of experiences at the front, and was a victim of the Great War.

Buried: St. Mary’s-(new cemetery) -Bohermore-Galway-Ireland (R.C.A.13.49).
