Additional Information: James arrived in New York in May 1915 aboard the SS Adriatic, he was the brother of Mrs, John McDonough Waltham, MA. The day he was killed he was acting has a telephone operator with orders to stay at his post in HQ. by so doing he was killed by a bomb from an enemy aircraft. After this his family received the dreaded telegram, Consulate Cable which read: James F. LALLY kia 1918-10-08. Ravin de Lai Fuon France is mentioned in the book written by Gene Fax “With Their Bare Hands: General Pershing, the 79th Division, and the battle for Montfaucon”.
